PEEK’s Winter Warmer and Christmas Gift Appeal
We need your help this Christmas! Can you spare a couple of pounds to support kids throughout Glasgow?
In partnership with Hub West Scotland and Spirit of Glasgow Christmas, we are collecting warm winter jackets, wellies and Christmas gifts for children, young people and families. Last year we delivered over 6500 Christmas Gifts, 1000 jackets and 360 pairs of wellies to individuals throughout Glasgow and this year we’re aiming even higher.
After two years of living through COVID-19, our families are struggling even more than before. We know that the demand is high, but we will do everything in our powers to provide for our communities.
Our CEO Michaela Collins states, “Last year a lot of the families we supported were just coping. This Winter, in addition to the pandemic continuing to have an impact on household incomes and health, we are seeing families choose between fuel and food this Winter.”
There are many ways you can support our drive as we are looking for donations of new winter jackets, wellies and toys.
You can donate a gift directly via our AMAZON WISH LIST which will be delivered straight to our door, elevating any stress of coming into face-to-face contact. All we ask is that you leave a note of your email address so when can thank you once our appeal is over.
OR you can donate money via Hub West Scotland’s JUSTGIVING LINK so we can buy a new winter jacket or pair of wellies. Be assured all of what you donate will be used to provide these essentials and will go straight to the children that attend our sessions or attend our partnering schools in Glasgow.
If you prefer giving the gift a personal touch and like picking out the perfect present, you can donate a gift to us face to face through the SPIRIT OF GLASGOW CHRISTMAS campaign.
Our doors are open from 9.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday for delivery drop offs.
Recent statistics show there are 107,775 Children living in Glasgow and 25,485 are living in poverty (Child Poverty Report Glasgow, 2020).
“A winter jacket might seem like an essential item but it will be beyond the reach of many families we support, especially this year. Please do what you can to make a real difference to children living in poverty in Glasgow by donating to hub West Scotland’s Winter Warmer Appeal.” – Michaela.
To anyone who plans on donating to child or young person, thank you in advance. Through Hub West Scotland and Glasgow Spirit of Christmas, we couldn’t have asked for a better partnership, as every year the Glasgow public pulls through to support one another even in the toughest of years. It is true that ‘People Make Glasgow.’
