Our Year in a Nutshell

2019/2020 has been unprecedented year of change for Possibilities for Each and Every Kid (PEEK).
Melodie Crumlin, our founding CEO stepped down after 19 years of service to PEEK.
On behalf of TEAMPEEK and all of our children, young people and families – we thank Melodie for her outstanding contribution in helping PEEK to develop from a small grassroots community organisation into the award-winning, well-loved and respected charity it has become.
As I write this, we are in the midst of the COVID19 crisis. PEEK has been responding to the crisis – supporting children, young people and families across Glasgow with healthy cooked meals, health & wellbeing packs, play kits, wellbeing support and emergency grants for fuel, mobile phone top-ups and basic household items such as washing machines, fridge freezers and beds.
Just before the COVID19 lockdown, we launched PEEKACHEW our mobile foodtruck. PEEKACHEW is a community asset that will support local people to be upskilled through community cooking workshops and provide training opportunities for young people. PEEKACHEW will also create healthy cooked meals during school holidays and transport them to families across the city all year round.
PEEK’s COVID19 crisis response was strengthened by so many individuals, organisations and businesses. A special thank you to the following businesses and organisations;
- Barras Art and Design
- Dockyard Social
- The High School of Glasgow
- Glasgow Caring City
- The Fresh Fruit and Veg Shop
- Rock DCM – 226 Gallowgate
- Food for Good Pilot
- One Parent Families Scotland
- Magic Breakfast
- Children’s Neighbourhood Scotland
- Save the Children Scotland
As we look ahead into 2020/21, we know the post COVID19 recovery process for our communities is going to be tough – but so are our children, young people and families. #TEAMPEEK will be here with them, every step of the way, enabling people and places to come together to Play, Create and Thrive.
Our PEEK Programme statistics for the year April 2019 – March 2020.
As an organisation, we will continue to invest in #TEAMPEEK, strengthen our infrastructure and to ensure that we continue to be a sustainable, viable and forward-thinking organisation through partnership working and collaboration across all sectors.
I would like to personally thank #TEAMPEEK for all their outstanding effort, passion and commitment to PEEK over the last 12 months. I am in awe of the magic they create and the impact they make on a daily basis. Thank you for showing up and never giving up. When the going got tough – we got tougher. Our board of directors have been a true source of strength and wise counsel and forever enhancing PEEK to be the very best organisation it can be. Thank you!
Without our many funders, we would not be able to deliver the amazing and often life changing projects and programmes with our children, young people and families.
