‘Our Streets’ photography exhibition 2021

by Michelle McDonald 12th August 2021

Our Streets is an online photography exhibition documenting the streets throughout Glasgow’s east end.

During the summer our young people walked the streets of their communities discussing the effects climate change is having on their area. With a race against the clock to beat global warming, our young people Amelia, Barry, Casey, Chloe, Jack, Morgan, Nicola, Paul, Rebecca, and Thomas wanted to show how much waste is in their local area.
This year will be the 26th Annual Summit Conference of the Parties 26 (COP26). With the UK as President, COP26 will take in home turf, Glasgow.
In the run up to COP26 the UK is working with every nation to reach agreement on how to tackle climate change. More than 190 world leaders will arrive in Scotland this November. Joining them will be tens of thousands of negotiators, government representatives, businesses and citizens for twelve days of talks.

Our Streets depicts the vast amounts of rubbish seen throughout our local area, highlighting just some of the minor effect of climate change.
