PEEK was
established in October 2000, in response to local people’s calls for provision
to be made for their Children and seeks to combat this atmosphere of limited
choices and few chances by listening carefully to the voices of local children
and young people and helping them to meet their goals, thereby increasing their
life expectations. Through a variety of long-term (Singing Group, Music Group,
Theatre Group, Funclubs, NICHE and YouthBank) and short-term activities
(Funshops, Holiday Clubs, PA Week) the
participants aged between 5-21yrs are offered both choices and chances designed
to discover and develop skills, increase confidence and self esteem and to
enjoy the challenges and opportunities the project can provide. Thanks to much support from a number of funders
including The Church of Scotland, Lloyds TSB, Children in Need, Big Lottery,
Moffat Trust and The Tudor trust( amongst a few) PEEK can ensure a quality
service for local children and young people.
PEEK currently employs 3 F/T and 7 P/T staff with a pool of specialist
staff and volunteers. Furthermore, we
are managed by a voluntary board of directors made up of local parents and
adults.
