Play Development Manager

Michaela Collins

Michaela has a wealth of experience in developing, leading and managing community based play, sport and physical activity programmes with children and young people who are experiencing multi-deprivation. She has been with PEEK for over 16 years and is in the unique position of being a participant, volunteer and staff member during this extensive period. Additionally, she has been involved with a variety of projects and organisations across the UK such as UnLtd, British Council, Changemakers, Sports Relief and UNICEF UK.

Michaela’s educational background is in Community Learning and Development, Community Arts and Playwork. Her work & study experience has taken her to Australia, Guyana, Uganda and New York through organisations such as UNICEF, British Council and Camp America. Michaela is part of the Common Purpose Alumni.

Michaela is very passionate about ‘paying it forward’ and takes on a number of voluntary and advisory roles:

  • Scottish National Rep for International Play Association
  • Member of the Spirit 2012 Youth Advisory Panel
  • Active Mentor with Active East – Scottish Sports Futures
  • Girls on The Move Ambassador for Youth Scotland
