Soccer Aid 2020 and a visit from James Nesbitt

by Michelle McDonald 3rd November 2020

This year we launched our mobile food truck PEEK-A-CHEW to support families during the Covid-19 crisis. This brought about immense recognition for PEEK by the likes of Unicef and Soccer Aid.

In partnership with Unicef, Soccer Aid 2020, ITV and STV James Nesbitt came to visit PEEK in his new documentary James Nesbitt ‘A Game of Two Halves.” During the first Coronavirus lockdown James helped to deliver Food and Well-being Parcels to communities throughout Glasgow.  James also spoke with our families to find out how PEEK has impacted their life.. and yes, the families loved asking him questions about all his famous films!

But one of our families stole the hearts of the nation and that was little Benjaman. Benjaman (pictured above) then had the amazing opportunity to kick off Soccer Aid 2020.

Between March and August 2020 we delivered 239,000+ meals to families over Glasgow.

We have also supported 1306 individuals with Well-being packs and over 5000 sanitary products.

This all couldn’t be done without support from our partners
